The answer to that question depends on the make and model of the hot tub, and how frequently it is used. The Hydropool brand offers superior insulation using Therma Shield, and this enhances energy efficiency. Be mindful of cheap imitations that only offer perimeter insulation and so lose a lot of heat, making them costly to run. Also bear in mind that hot tubs that need the water replaced frequently will be more expensive to operate, as they’ll need heating from scratch more often. A self-cleaning home spa will reduce the need to change the water too often.
